SFC offers a number
of catalog styles for different font types. Each style uses a particular
pattern of characters for a font sample. You can change the character strings
by entering new strings in the various fields on the right side of the Preferences
form. You can enter any text you like, but if the string is too long, it will
be truncated on the right side to fit the available space.
The top field is for the single line text sample. This is used by the Display
and Full Page catalog styles, as well as the font View
and Add/Confirm
forms.
The next three fields
contain the three line alphabetical sample strings, the lower case and upper
case alphabets, numbers and some punctuation. This sample type is used in the
Normal, Display, Text, and Full Page catalog styles, as well as the font View
and Add/Confirm
forms.
The single line alphabetical
sample is used for the Compact catalog style.
The last field is the paragraph text field. It is used in the Text and Full
Page catalog styles. If the quote from Thomas Jefferson is not to your liking,
feel free to change it.
There is a Default
button above each field that will return the default string to each field. In
addition, pressing the main Default
button at the bottom of the screen, will return all fields to their default
values.
